Job Description

Job Title: Janitorial Cleaner
Location: Kelowna, BC
Wage Rate: $19-$20/hr
Shift Days: Sunday – Thursday
Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM / 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

Janitorial Cleaner Job Overview:

As a Janitorial Cleaner with BEST – For A Cleaner World, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards within our facilities. Responsibilities include maintaining common areas, washrooms, mopping, sweeping, and ensuring surfaces are clean and sanitized.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean offices, auditoriums, classrooms, washrooms, and other designated areas
  • Ensure proper sanitation and disinfection procedures are followed
  • Replenish supplies as needed
  • Dispose of garbage in designated bins
  • Address dry and wet spills promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness of storage areas and equipment
  • Report equipment repairs and stock shortages
  • Perform minor maintenance repairs and report damage or vandalism
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment
  • Familiarity with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Ability to read and understand labels and instructions
  • Previous custodial experience is an asset
  • Acceptable security and criminal record check

Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a Canadian Background Check
